Rabbits
Updated 16/2/2012
This page includes details of the rabbits that are currently available for re-homing.

CHEQUERS (RESERVED) is a young male and was brought to the branch with his sister Mulberry.

SHERIDAN - was neutered at the very end of May so will be available for rehoming by mid June. He was born in May 2009. He originally lived with his brother, but as they were un-neutered they did not get on together. Sheridan had some small bites when he came to us, but his previous owners had already started him on a course of antibiotics which prevented them from becoming infected. He is easy to handle and should make a lovely family pet. Sheridan would prefer a home with a neutered female

FROSTY |
HETTIE
|
|
FROSTY is a female albino dwarf lop. She came into rescue as her previous owners are emigrating. Frosty came to us with her companion, Mischief, but we have had to separate these 2 bunnies as they have been fighting. This can be seen by the fact that Frosty is missing part of her ear! She was neutered on 18th October 2010. Frosty will be looking for a neutered male companion to live with.
HETTIE was a stray who was collected by the RSPCA Inspector during January 2011. We had no space at the time so the Inspector looked after her and arranged for her to be neutered and vaccinated. Hettie is a little bit nervous of human contact but is relatively easy to handle and does not bite. She is a medium size bunny with lovely coloration. She is looking for a new home with a neutered male as a companion.
Violet is a black lion head, born in April 2009. She was neutered in October 2011 and so is ready to be re-homed. She came into the rescue centre when her previous owner developed an allergy to rabbit fur. Violet can be possessive of her food and she pretends she doesn’t like to be picked up but is very placid and friendly when handled.

Cherry is a black & white Dutch of about 2 - 2.5 years old who came to us during May. She was given-up because the young family were no longer interested in her and another female that has already been rehomed. As a consequence Cherry has not been handled very much and is currently quite timid and prefers not to be picked-up. However, once she is in your arms she does not nibble or struggle (too much!). So the signs are positive that in time Cherry will accept human contact more readily.Cherry was neutered in early June and has recovered well from her operation. Her ideal partner is a neutered male who is not too dominant.
Stirling is a very playful black and white lop. He also came to us as a stray and we believe he is about 1 year old. He can be a bit wary of people but can be handled easily although occasionally he might give a gentle nibble on your clothing. He has been neutered and is looking for a new home.
Mocha is a 4 year old dwarf lop. She originally came to the rescue centre as a stray in 2008. She was re-homed but then when her partner died she came back to us in September 2011. She has had to go on a diet and can be a bit possessive over her food but she is very placid when handled. She’s now looking for a new home with a new boyfriend .
