Dogs

This page includes details on all the dogs that are currently available for re-homing.

ALONSO - is a 3 year old male Jack Russell (neutered) who came into care because his owner was no longer in a position to care for him.  This little man is very friendly  and loving though is nervous and occasionally fearful when he meets people and dogs for the first time and is particularly fearful of men.  Alonso is house trained, walks well on the lead and travels well in a vehicle.  He has good recall although it is not always instant and is both food and affection orientated so he is well placed for any additional training a new owner may like to do.  Alonso could live with another medium energy balanced dog and would suit a calm household that is both child and cat free.

TOMMY - is a 7 year old male Terrier mix who came into care because of his owner's ill health.  His foster carer says he has settled well within the family and his new home, is house trained and has good recall.  Tommy gets on well with other dogs but does not enjoy the company of cats and will chase anything furry.  He currently lives with another dog and a house that has two children who love to play with him.  Tommy is crate trained, travels well in the car and is a very loving little dog. He would be ideally suited to a home where someone is around for most of the time as he is not very happy when left alone for long periods.

If you are interested in speaking to someone about offering any of these dogs a permanent home please be advised that the following requirements will need to be met before placing a dog in a new home:

  • Away from home for less than 4 hours per day
  • Possess a secure back garden
  • Not have children under the age of 5

The animal’s best interests are our priority together with ensuring you experience a successful adoption so please do not be offended if we ask you a lot of questions prior to arranging a viewing of the dog.

If you wish to adopt any of our dogs please call 07853 892 884 or email dogs@rspca-reading.org.uk
