Fostering
Fostering has become a wider known phenomenon in recent years with the supply of 'unwanted', abused or stray animals far outnumbering the demand. This high demand resulted in much greater pressure on the rescue industry to rehome animals that come into their care. Volunteer fostering in private homes helps to alleviate some of the highly populated centres and gives the opportunity for animals with special needs to have the one to one care they sometimes need before being placed up for adoption.
Without a fostering facility many more animals would still be waiting for a more loving, suitable and on occasion safer home in which to enjoy their life.
Volunteers are very important to the branch because without them we would not be in a position to provide the community with what continues to prove to be an invaluable service. We aim to help as many people as we can out of difficult situations in order to give their much loved pets a second chance.
This highly rewarding role gives volunteers an immense source of satisfaction and pride in the work that they have committed to.
